Established in 1942, the group's flagship brand, Dainik Jagran is the brainchild of freedom fighter, Late Shri Puran Chandra Gupta. According to IRS data, Dainik Jagran is India's largest read daily with a total readership of 54.2 million [IRS 2010 Q2].It was voted as the most credible and trusted newspapers in India [Source: Globescan].
Dainik Jagran Group publishes is now published from 11 states having 29 editions. JPL has three newspaper brands in 73 editions, with more than 200 sub-editions, from 31 printing facilities across 14 states in the country.
“Jagran Post” - An initiative of the world’s largest read newspaper Dainik Jagran, the Jagranpost.com has carved a niche for itself in the English web media. Besides covering news items under different sections like World, Nation, Sports, Lifestyle, Business and Entertainment, Jagranpost also takes pride in having special stories from Dainik Jagran in English just to provide information from the regions which generally go unheard. Since technology plays a key role in the web media, the post has taken stride and is able to update its readers through iPhone application as well as on android phones. Now our readers need not rush to computer set or laptop, they just need gadgets in their hands to reach out to the favourite section of news at a faster speed.
Besides matching the technological developments, the post has also got the distinction of having online version of the Jagran’s lifestyle Hindi magazine ‘Sakhi-Main Hoon Meri Pehchaan’ in English. The company has set up "Jagran Solutions" that specializes in providing versatile below the line, interactive and experiential integrated marketing plans. It has a pan India network. It has won 14 prestigious awards.
The company's other venture "J9" provides Web, WAP & Text based Value Added Services, Products, Platforms & Solutions for consumers and corporates. J9’s classifieds portal Khojle.in was awarded a silver in the “WAN-IFRA - Best Online Media Classifieds Website in the Asia Pacific region”
"Jagran International" works towards marketing JPL products outside India along with their international associates - Independent News and Media PLC.
“Jagran Yatra” -The exclusive travel and tourism portal, is the one stop shop for travelers from across the globe. They also have a print supplement.
“Jagran Pehel” - the social wing works towards the betterment of the society and raising awareness among the masses on issues that loom large.
"Radio Mantra"- is JPL’s very own radio channel.
“Jagran Engage” – It 900 + towns, spread across 370 districts in 27 states. Engage offers comprehensive Out-Of-Home (OOH) solutions to prospects & customers through its bouquet of offerings of Hoardings &Billboards, Unique Street Furniture, Transit & Mobile Media besides innovative & ambient to suit specific client requirement.
“Jagran Foundation” – It undertakes a series of initiatives towards the larger cause of nation building. The first in the series of such initiatives is the Jagran Forum – for “Thought Leadership”. The 1st Jagran Forum was on Democracy, Development and Social Inclusion. The 2nd Forum was on “Democracy and Conflict Resolution in Asia”. The 3rd Forum was on “Democracy : Challenges of Consensus Building”. All were attended by dignitaries from across India and the World including the Prime Minster and Vice President of India.
“Jagran Research” – It was established in May, 1996 as an independent and a premier multidisciplinary research & consulting organization. JRC is involved in publishing reference books and magazines. These books include Jagran Yearbooks, Country and Statewise statistical databank, Jagran Josh monthly magazine and others.
